Oahu Black Zipper ca. 1930 with new Hardshell case

$2,650.00
sold out

This all Mahogany beauty has all the rare, old zipper binding you could ever want. With the slightly bursted, dark chocolate Mahogany, the aged white in the zipper gets to really shine in contrast.

A spunky little featherweight of a guitar, this puppy puts out some sound. Warm, round and solid notes to be delicately fingerpicked for a plaintive sound with just a hint of shimmer - reminiscent of old “Parlor” repertoire - or employ heavy rest strokes with a flat pick to punch out some hefty blocks of pitch strong with fundamentals to cut through most anything. This is a wonderful example of what Mahogany tops do best - thick, less cluttered notes that fill up every bit of the pitches played… and you couldn’t ask for a prettier box for such music to be presented with.

Fully Overhauled, braced for 13’s/12’s with a chunky carbon fiber rod under the new fingerboard to keep it straight as an arrow for the decades to come.
